Our summary:
Meanwhile, a good 4 weeks have passed since we arrived back home. In that time we were able to sort out most of the pictures and videos as well as our thoughts and impressions we brought back from Iceland.
Also the loss of the drone is overcome, the replacement unit via DJI Care Refresh has already been delivered.

A few Fun-Facts:
Who is a bit interested in numbers, to the 3500 driven kilometers came according to my watch, 183189 steps, including the day of arrival & departure. That resulted in a pretty decent daily average.
In the 15 days we have, as you could see in the travelogue, made a few pictures.
With the two drones, there were 1040 photos and videos. The GoPro took 321 videos. With our two DSLR`s from Sony there were 3669 photos.
And finally our smartphones, which snapped 3285 times. It has to be said that the current S22 series delivers quite decent photos, especially for landscapes.

So, after sorting out the rough scrap, we smuggled home a good 8300 impressions duty-free.
The travelogue is only limited, in terms of number of pieces, to less than 10% of the pictures. However, most of the places and experiences are still included.
So there is still a lot to show in the aftermath, please visit my Facebook page or my Youtube channel.
But especially the exciting drone videos will still need time, which will hopefully arise in the cold winter months - be curious about what's to come.

The trip itself, as the report describes, absolutely met our expectations. We were able to discover parts of the West for the first time and were not disappointed.
We had also planned in advance a day trip to the northwestern region, with a pure driving time of 9 hours under optimal conditions. But then we discarded this, that would just end in strains.
When you look back on it, you can't help thinking, "Couldn't we have taken it a little easier now and then?"
Yes, certainly, but when you are on site, you want to experience as much as possible, as long as it remains within a tolerable framework.

In order to relax and unwind, it makes no sense to pay a not exactly small 4-digit amount just for the rental car, which is then just standing around. For recreational vacations, our home country also offers many great opportunities, where you then also do not have to fly.
Speaking of flying, we were of course happy that everything went smoothly both on the outbound & return flight. No suitcases were lost, which can be a real mood killer at the beginning of the trip and we were also always fully on schedule.
At Thingvellir we met a young German couple, who also came from FFM airport, but with a 10-hour delay, because shortly before departure the machine was defective. The two had planned a 5-day tour once around the Ring Road. The missing 10 hours will really hurt them.
Just the handling at the Fraport had already worried us in advance.
During the summer months, the media often reported that flights were canceled and tourists were stranded at the airport before their vacation even started.
Long story short, the concern was unfounded.
Looking back, we had a great time, met great people again and got to know new ones. The fascination for this country, which in many places still offers so much unspoiled nature, brings people together, and Jon's Facebook group is the example.
We are already looking forward to the hopefully appearing 2nd photo book and will also again submit one or the other photo at least.
If you've read this far, you've either had a fair amount of stamina or the travelogue wasn't that boring, but this concludes the review.
It then remains the outlook
...which, because of the global political situation, is pure speculation at the moment. Iceland itself is considered the most peaceful country on earth in terms of crime.
However, we also have to wait and see how economic things will develop in our country. Whether, how and when we want to afford a carefree trip to Iceland again, remains completely open.
That we would come nevertheless gladly again, is beyond question.
Even after three visits, there is still so much to discover, we would also like to experience Iceland in winter. There are enough motives for the next trip.
The cover image for this section is a map of all of Iceland. It is peppered with many virtual pins.
These are places we would either still like to see or where we have already been - unfortunately far from complete. We are only too happy to use the function in Google Maps for our pre-planning. If we see an interesting place on pictures or in reports, it is continuously added to the map.
There is not much more to say as an outlook to further Iceland trips, because planning is not meaningful today. Sometimes everything is already said with a few words and so we conclude the travel report.
To whom this report tempts to want to travel to Iceland, we can recommend Katla Travel. The travel agency from Munich has specialized in Iceland and Greenland journeys. We have so far booked all our three trips through it and felt so far always very well cared and you get a total package.
Write us gladly your feedback over the form for contact, or over Facebook & co.
Thank you for taking the time, stay healthy and come through these difficult times as unscathed as possible!

Hopefully we will see each other again in this format.
