A journey through the south and west of Iceland
Our trip this year began, as it did 5 years ago, at the end of August.
As usually our first cottage this year was in the south, and for the second week we have rent anothe cottage in the west, and that for the first time.
The cottage in the south was again near Árnes, in the neighborhood of our first house in 2015 - we felt at home right away.
The location of the cottage in the west in Búðardalur was fantastic, right on the beach.
So we had a wonderful view of the sea and could enjoy a sunset almost every evening.
At first I wanted to split the trip up for you by theme, but then I decided to take you through our daily itinerary.
Since we were able to experience and discover so great different things every day, this provides more variety.
The day of arrival and departure I have omitted, airports and rental car stations are not really that exciting, that you would be valuable  to show them.

3500 km through the south and west of Iceland, in 15 days with arrival and departure.
We would like to take you with us on this journey, whereby such a travel report is always a balancing act between too little and too much. Too much text or too many pictures, or too little of one or the other. Neither should it be a novel, nor a photo book, and yet you want to leave out as an author no experience. Whereby I am not even close to being a useful writer and locate myself more on the side of hobby photography.
Still, I hope the layout of our travelogue is entertaining, and it comes at least close to the right dose.
Have fun on our journey!
