When we looked at the weather forecasts yesterday evening for the tour selection on the 2nd day, some disillusionment occurred - in all Iceland heavy rain and windy.
Since it was there the confidence, so had booked without further ado the Lava Tunnel Tour online.
The route there we made dependent on the weather.

When the next morning was only overcast, we decided to look at the coast south of Sellfoss, as far as the weather plays along. The tour was only booked for 12 o'clock.
The first stop was, in still dry conditions, Urriðafoss.
A rather wide waterfall with less height of fall.

Via the 308, the journey then continued towards the coast, with one or the other not so untypical pile of scrap metal.
Especially in the rural area, the environmental protection thought is not yet so pronounced - so we were told.
Old, broken machines are often left behind at their last place of use, the properties are often huge and the costs for a removal are probably immense.
Likewise everyone knows probably also the abandoned and dilapidated houses, which one can meet so well as in completely Iceland.
When we then arrived at Knarrarósviti (lighthouse), the weather was already rougher, although still dry.
Finally we were in time at the tourist center for the lava tunnel tour and it became really uncomfortable, wet, windy and cold.
Since the cave was a dry pleasant place and the tour was really exciting with a humorous guide.
On the way back we had a very interesting conversation with him. He told us, that he has spent some time in Germany for his geology studies.

After the tour we stopped only again briefly at the coast at an old restaurant directly near the beach to be able to enjoy the lousy weather to the fullest.
Wet and cold, we then made our way back to our cottage to warm up again in the hot tub.
